I founded MICO TOY CO in April of 2010. Tired of the nine to five rat race I decided to take a chance and develop a fun concept in the form of soft toys.
I'm creative by birth, my mother home sewed and is into scrapbooking and greeting card design. My dad is an aspiring screenwriter who also draws in abstracts. I have sold several fine art paintings of my own and have revived my love for art through hand crafts.
I came upon this idea of creating dolls when thinking of my maternal grandmother's soft prim dolls. They were simple peasant girl dolls (see sample pic to the right) made with varied scrap cloth and varied toned stockings for the bodies. I wanted to create something modern, whimsical, fun, colorful with that touch of simplicity that just reminds you of your childhood.
